Manchester City reached the Semi-Finals breakig out of Champions League Quarter-finals

Manchester City reached the last four of the Champions League for the first time under the coaching of Pep Guardiola. The English club beat Borussia Dortmund in both legs in the quarter-finals and reached the semi-finals again after three seasons.

Man City beat Dortmund 2-1 in the second leg of the quarter-final at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Wednesday night (April 14). In the first leg, Guardiola’s team won by the same margin at home. As a result, Man City reached the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 2-2 lead in the two legs. The English Premier League team has left the last eight of the last three seasons. Man City will fight against PSG in the race to reach the final.

Phil Foden was instrumental in Manchester City reaching the semi-finals. The young Ellingsh forward wrapped the ball in Dortmund’s net in both legs. Man City won the first leg at home with his goal. Even today, Guardiola’s team won the match with his goal at the last minute in the away match. Coach Guardiola praised Foden for his contribution to the team’s semi-finals.

Dortmund would have got the last four ticket if they had won 1-0 at home as they had the advantage to score in the away match. Jude Bellingham’s goal at the beginning of the match gave hope to the German club. But the last defense did not. Despite leading 1-0 in the first half, Riyad Mahrez equalized for Manchester City with a goal from the penalty spot early in the second half. Foden scored the winning goal for the visitors after a draw.

Dortmund took the lead in the first attack of the match in the 15th minute of the match. Earling Holland’s pass in the D-box landed in front of Bellingham. With great control, the England midfielder’s powerful right-footed shot beat Man City goalkeeper Ederson. Mahrez equalized for Man City from a spot-kick in the 55th minute. The Algerian midfielder scored in the Champions League after 14 matches. De Bruyne’s shot was blocked by the goalkeeper in the 64th minute. But in the next minute, Foden’s goal gave Man City the last laugh. His shot from outside the D-box hit the inside of the post and into the net.
